The advanced tier: hands-on masterclasses

The mentorship teaches where to stand. The masterclasses sharpen what you do once you're standing there — advanced technical work, on live models, with JJ Savani correcting in the room.

The academies have campuses. Our classroom moves.

Search for barber mentorship in the UK and you will find excellent academies with fixed addresses — the London School of Barbering at Liverpool Street, MENSPIRE Academy in St Albans, Mike Taylor Education in Poole. For foundations and commercial confidence, that model is the right one, and we say so plainly: if you are building your technical base, start there. JJ Savani trained through Vidal Sassoon and the London School of Barbering himself, and has returned to LSB as a guest educator.

The Global Stylist Blueprint's education works the other way around. There is no campus. The masterclasses are delivered where the industry actually is that month — a two-day advanced technical workshop at the AX Palace in Malta with the London School of Barbering, a hands-on masterclass in Paphos, Cyprus, stage masterclasses at Professional Beauty India in Delhi and Mumbai, session work in London during Fashion Week. The location is part of the education: you learn session finishing in the rooms where session work happens.

What is taught

Advanced cutting. Clipper work. Sectioning for movement and shape — the signature discipline of the whole programme. Session and editorial finishing. All of it hands-on, on live models, in small rooms, with correction happening at the chair, not from a stage. This is not foundation training, and we decline applicants whose technical base is not already professional; the academies above are the honest recommendation for that stage.

How it connects to the mentorship

The mentorship itself does not teach cutting — it teaches positioning, portfolio and network. The masterclasses are where GSB's advanced technical education lives, and entry to every in-person masterclass and event worldwide is included in the mentorship fee (travel and accommodation are your own). Some masterclasses are also announced for open enrolment — dates on the events page. The two layers are deliberate: career mechanics weekly on calls, craft sharpened in person, several times a year, internationally.

What this is not

Not a fundamentals course. Not an academy with a syllabus you repeat each intake. Not a certificate — the record of a GSB masterclass is the work itself and where it was delivered, which is why each one is documented on the events page with the organiser's own coverage where it exists.

Common questions

Is there an advanced barber masterclass with hands-on training in the UK? Yes — delivered in Malta, Cyprus, India and London rather than at a fixed campus, included in the mentorship fee, with some open-enrolment dates.

Does GSB have an academy or campus? No, deliberately — the masterclasses travel to where the work is. For campus-based foundation training, start with an established academy such as the London School of Barbering.

What level do I need? A professional technical foundation. Applications are declined where the base isn't there yet.

What does it cost? Entry to every in-person masterclass and event worldwide is included in the £4,500 mentorship fee; travel and accommodation are your own. Open-enrolment pricing is announced per event.
