01 The Trap

Technically elite.
Locally invisible.

i

You sell hours, not authority

Ten-hour days behind the chair, and a hard ceiling on what the day can earn. The body wears out long before the income moves.

ii

You compete on price locally

Clients argue over the cost of a cut in a saturated town, while brands three postcodes away pay four figures a day for the same hands.

iii

You have no route in

You know the work exists. You have no network, no portfolio structure, and nobody has ever shown you who actually books these jobs.

The industry sold you a lie: that if your work is good enough, the work will find you. It will not. Positioning decides who gets booked. Talent only decides who keeps the job.

02 The Laws

What we believe, and what we refuse to.

01

Talent gets you compliments. Positioning gets you opportunities. Authority gets you paid.

02

Nobody is coming to discover you. Discovery is manufactured, not awaited.

03

Your portfolio is not a record of your work. It is an argument for your next booking.

04

Being the best in your town is a ceiling, not an achievement.

05

Access is a relationship problem before it is a talent problem.

06

Charge for the outcome you create, never for the hour you spent creating it.

07

A career is built on the rooms you enter, not the hours you log.

08

Own a lane narrow enough that nobody else can stand in it.

09

Visibility without positioning is noise. Positioning without visibility is a secret.

10

You will not be given permission. You will be recognised, or you will be ignored.

03 The Method

The GSB Ascension Method™

Eight stages. Each one closes a specific gap between where you work now and where the bookings are.

01

Identity & Brand Architecture

Define who you are for the global market — not who you have been for your local one.

02

Positioning Strategy

Own a lane nobody else can occupy. Specific enough to be remembered, broad enough to be booked.

03

Portfolio & Presence Build

Create work that opens world-class doors, structured the way creative directors actually read it.

04

Network Engineering

Build the relationships that create careers. Who holds the keys, and how you become known to them.

05

Content & Visibility System

Become impossible to ignore online — without turning into a content machine.

06

Booking & Business Model

Convert attention into real income. Day rates, retainers, contracts, terms.

07

Editorial & Brand Deals

Access Fashion Weeks, campaigns and press — the mechanics, not the mythology.

08

Legacy & Scale

Build a career that outlasts your hands: education, direction, ownership.

04 Selects

The work our students made after.

Every result below belongs to a stylist who was working locally when they started. Names and handles are theirs — go and ask them.

Global Stylist Stories

The Global Stylist Scorecard

Most stylists cannot name the actual reason they are not being booked internationally. They guess, and they guess wrong — usually blaming their technical work, which is almost never the problem.

The Scorecard takes twelve minutes and scores you across the eight stages of the Ascension Method. It tells you which stage you are stuck at and what specifically to fix. No call required. Nothing to buy.

What you get back

  • A score across all eight stages
  • Your single weakest stage, named
  • The specific fix for that stage
  • A benchmark against stylists already booking internationally

07 The Book

POSITIONED by JJ Savani — acid yellow first edition cover: Talent is not enough

The missing curriculum of the hair industry.

Talent gets you compliments. Positioning gets you opportunities. Authority gets you paid.

POSITIONED dismantles the industry's most expensive lie: that talent alone builds a career. It runs the entire GSB Ascension Method, one chapter per stage — with the case files of students you can verify: a Maltese artist who went from 3,000 reach to 200,000 and the first Maltese main-stage demonstration at Professional Beauty India; a British hairstylist whose positioning earned a heritage fashion partnership; a twenty-year-old from the Faroe Islands who closed region-wide distribution rights within his first week after a year of silence.

  • 03 Portfolio & Presence
  • 04 Network Engineering
  • 05 Content & Visibility
  • 06 Booking & Business Model

The book also carries a story JJ has never told before now — the reason for the shades, and the reason for the yellow. Every pound of his author profit goes to Moorfields Eye Charity, in gratitude for the care he received at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

First edition in acid yellow. A limited run of hardbacks goes to editors and industry figures first; the direct edition follows, and ships with the companion workbook — every exercise in the book, laid out to work through properly, ending in a free 30-minute audit call.

05 In Their Words

What it's actually like to work with us.

Verified reviews, published in full on Trustpilot — including the parts that are not a compliment.

"Exceptional — a true educator and mentor. We recently co-taught a masterclass together at my studio and at the AX Palace here in Malta — my first official collaboration since Goldie made me their exclusive brand ambassador for Malta. Within that same three weeks, Professional Beauty India also reached out to have me demonstrate and educate on their main stage. But beyond the achievements — JJ doesn't just give you the task. He follows up and guides you through it, every time. That extra mile is what sets GSB apart."

"I was struggling to target brands and be known beyond local. I had a brand partnership within the first two weeks — a brand I wear daily. The guidance for targeting brands and being taken seriously was all from JJ; I now deal with all the communication myself. My reach went from 74.4k to a consistent 390k a month. I've re-signed for another three to six months."
Tom Darling
Darlin's Barbers, UK
Sergio Tacchini · Professional Beauty India
"There were things I assumed JJ would just do, and he didn't. The guidance is there for the VIP communication, the brand emails, the rapport — but he can get you in the door. You have to close it."

09 The Collective

The method, self-driven.

Not everyone needs — or is ready for — a bespoke mentorship. The Collective is the full GSB Ascension Method as a rolling membership: you work the material at your own pace, with two live group calls a month to keep you honest.

The Collective £650 onboarding + £249/month

  • The GSB Ascension Method in full — Phase 1 Foundations, Phase 2 Authority, Phase 3 Ascension.
  • Two live group calls a month with JJ. That is the access — no 1-on-1, no 24/7 line.
  • The Collective community, The Vault, and The Portal.
  • Self-driven. Your pace, your accountability, no guaranteed outcomes.
  • Still considered for Fashion Weeks, international shows and brand partnerships — considered, not promised.
  • Rolling monthly. No lock-in. Cancel anytime.

The Mentorship £4,500 · three months · application only

  • Three months, 1-on-1 with JJ — everything in the Collective included.
  • Weekly calls and direct 24/7 access between them.
  • Entry to in-person GSB events worldwide included.
  • At least one international opportunity, unlocked at milestones.
  • Three personal targets set at sign-up, route agreed on the discovery call.

Next intake for both: September 2026 · Mentorship applications open now

10 The Author

JJ Savani

JJ Savani, British session stylist and grooming director, founder of The Global Stylist Blueprint

JJ Savani · Wellingborough, England

Session stylist · Editorial & campaign
Stylist · Zegna, Dubai Fashion Week
Global Grooming Director · Mrs India Worldwide 2026
Founder · The Global Stylist Blueprint

JJ Savani is a British session stylist, grooming director and educator. His work spans editorial, fashion and campaign hair across Dubai, Paris and London Fashion Weeks, including as Stylist for Zegna at Dubai Fashion Week.

He came up the same way most of his students did — locally, behind a chair, with no map. Everything in the Ascension Method is the route he had to reverse-engineer the hard way. He began teaching it in 2018 as a private, referral-only mentorship for industry peers, and opened it to the public in 2025.

Alongside two decades in hair, he has held senior learning and development roles across healthcare and recruitment, and holds an MBA and a degree in psychology. It is why the programme is structured like a curriculum rather than a series of masterclasses.

I created this because I watched elite talent spend entire careers behind local chairs at local rates, purely because nobody ever taught them how to position, package and pitch themselves to the international stage.

11 Alignment

This is not for everyone, and that is deliberate.

Built for Yes

  • Barbers, hairdressers and colourists — any hair professional with proven technical mastery who has outgrown the local ceiling.
  • Creatives ready to build a genuine personal brand rather than a follower count.
  • People determined to work backstage at Milan, Paris, London or Dubai.
  • Professionals who accept that positioning, not scissor skill, sets the rate.

Not for No

  • Beginners looking for cutting tutorials or technical foundation training.
  • Anyone hunting a template that works without doing the positioning work.
  • Hobbyists not ready to treat their name as a business.
  • People unwilling to invest financially or operationally in the change.

12 The Programme

What the mentorship actually includes.

01

1-on-1 brand strategy

A personal audit and repositioning map built with JJ around your specific target — editorial, Fashion Week, celebrity or brand consulting.

02

The GSB Master Library

Lifetime access to the full framework library: brand architecture, luxury outreach, agency pitching scripts, contract negotiation.

03

JJ Savani's Pro Team

Network maps, contact directories and agency booking routes — and, as you progress, an invite onto JJ's own Pro Team: hands-on entry into assisting on real Fashion Week sets alongside JJ and other team members, across Dubai, New York, London and Paris Fashion Weeks.

04

Weekly calls & 24/7 access

Weekly live calls — portfolio reviews, pitch audits, negotiation feedback — plus direct 24/7 access to JJ between them.

05

The editorial collection

Hands-on, not theoretical: you build a mood board, run a test shoot, then execute and submit a full fashion editorial with models and a photographer. Reviewed directly by JJ.

06

In-person events, worldwide — included

Entry to any of JJ's in-person events is included in the cost. They run at least monthly across the globe — so far Malta, Barcelona, Paris, Cyprus, Dubai and India.

07

At least one international opportunity

Every mentorship includes at least one international opportunity, unlocked as you pass milestones. Past students have worked London and Dubai Fashion Weeks with JJ, been published in editorials, and delivered first main-stage performances at global trade shows. Not compulsory — earned, then offered.

08

Global Stylist Stories

Documented journeys from inside the cohort. Your progress becomes proof, and proof becomes bookings.

13 The Journal

Everything we know, published.

The mechanics of international session work, written down properly. No email required, no gate. If it helps you get there without us, good.

Read the Journal

14 Questions

Before you ask.

The Mentorship is £4,500 for three months, by application. The Collective is £650 onboarding plus £249 a month, rolling, cancel anytime. Both are published rather than held back for a call — there is a full breakdown of what that fee buys and where a cheaper option is the better choice, including the cases where we would tell you not to spend it with us.

No. A core part of the method is securing international contracts, editorial shoots and global bookings while keeping your home base. You travel for the work itself. Relocation is not required.

Three to five hours a week on the material and your portfolio. The programme is built for stylists already working full time behind the chair.

You need solid professional skills already — cutting, colour, grooming or creative direction. This is not a technical school. It is a positioning and client-acquisition engine for people whose craft is already there.

Both, and colourists too. The Global Stylist Blueprint works with any hair professional — the method is the same because the problem is the same: technically excellent work that stays invisible outside a local radius. Students on the programme span men's barbering, women's hairdressing, colour and session/editorial styling.

The mentorship is delivered online — weekly live calls and 24/7 direct access to JJ — but the deliverables are hands-on and real-world. You complete mood boards, test shoots and a submitted fashion editorial with models and a photographer. Entry to JJ's in-person events around the world is included in the cost, and they run at least monthly — Malta, Barcelona, Paris, Cyprus, Dubai and India so far. As you progress, that access has included an invite onto JJ Savani's own Pro Team: hands-on assisting on real Fashion Week sets alongside JJ and other team members — international placements have included Dubai, New York, London and Paris Fashion Weeks. Every mentorship includes at least one international opportunity, unlocked as you pass milestones: past students have worked London and Dubai Fashion Weeks with JJ, been published in editorials, and made first main-stage appearances at global trade shows. At sign-up you set three personal targets, and the route to them is agreed with JJ on the discovery call.

Backstage teams are assembled by a lead stylist or a sponsoring brand, almost always through agencies and existing relationships rather than open applications. The route in is assisting — being known to the people who build those teams, with a portfolio that matches the aesthetic of the shows you want. That mechanism is what stage four and stage seven of the method exist to solve.

15 Application

Alignment check.

Three questions. It takes under a minute and it decides whether a call is worth either of our time.

Question 01

What is your primary craft?

This tells us which market segment and which route applies to you.

Question 02

How long have you been working professionally?

International bookings sit on top of a solid technical foundation.

Question 03

Are you in a position to invest in this?

This is a bespoke, high-touch mentorship with a limited cohort.

Aligned.

Your profile fits what the cohort is built for. A discovery call is an hour, one to one, going through your actual work — and applications get declined on that call regularly, so it costs you nothing to have it.

Before you go — where should I send your roadmap?

I will send your roadmap either way, whether or not you book.

Got it — that is on its way.

Book the discovery call

Sensible.

Weighing it properly is the right instinct, and I would rather you did that than book on impulse. Two things worth doing first: the Scorecard, which is free and names which of the eight stages is actually costing you bookings, and the full breakdown of what the fee buys — including where a cheaper option is the better choice.

Before you go — where should I send your roadmap?

No follow-up sequence. The roadmap, and one check-in.

Got it — that is on its way.

Take the Scorecard What it actually costs

Not yet.

Being straight with you: the mentorship is built for stylists with an established technical foundation who are ready to move now. Forcing it earlier wastes your money and my time.

The Collective is £650 onboarding plus £249 a month, rolling and cancel anytime — the same method, self-driven. The Scorecard is free either way.

Before you go — where should I send your roadmap?

Come back when the timing is right. I will not chase you.

Got it — that is on its way.

Take the Scorecard The Collective
