I founded The Global Stylist Blueprint. I also think MENSPIRE is the best technical academy in UK men's hair, and I will say so again below. If either fact bothers you, read someone else's comparison — though you will struggle to find one written by anybody who knows both worlds.
What MENSPIRE is
A physical academy in St Albans with a global brand, salons on several continents, and a reputation built on technical excellence in men's hair. The flagship 12-week foundation course (£5,799) is classroom-based, ITEC-certified, and rigorous. You are taught to cut to an elite standard by people who cut to an elite standard.
Its graduates leave genuinely skilled. What the academy does not claim to do — and does not do — is get you booked for editorial, fashion week or brand work. It is a school, and schools end.
What The Global Stylist Blueprint is
A mentorship, not a school. Delivery is online — weekly calls plus 24/7 direct access to me — and the in-person component happens at real industry events rather than in a classroom: entry to my events worldwide is included in the £4,500, and they run at least monthly across Malta, Barcelona, Paris, Cyprus, Dubai and India to date.
The work is the transition itself: positioning, portfolio, network, and hands-on deliverables — mood boards, test shoots, a submitted fashion editorial with models and a photographer. Every mentorship includes at least one international opportunity, unlocked at milestones. Past students have worked London and Dubai Fashion Weeks with me, been published in editorials, and delivered first main-stage performances at trade shows. At sign-up each student sets three personal targets, and we agree the route to them on the discovery call.
What GSB does not do: teach cutting. If your technique is not yet professional, we will decline your application and tell you to fix that first — sometimes by pointing at MENSPIRE.
